Our Taxi Story
It just happened again recently, we got kicked out of a taxi! And it wasn’t because we slammed the door, because we never slam doors at all. The issue was, that the taxi driver didn’t know how to get to our destination and that was his reason to make us get out of the taxi and take another one.
That already happened before and it doesn’t matter if it’s during the day or at night. Taxi drivers tend to only go to places they know, sometimes they ask other taxi drivers if they know how to get there, but that’s pretty much it. They don’t use Google Maps, Waze and all those apps you could use these days to figure that out.
That never happened to us before in other countries. Well, I don’t judge them for doing things differently, but I have to say it’s a tiny bit inconvenient for a passenger.
As always we want to give you a better idea of how life is in Medellin and that’s why I talk about the incident. In case that will happen to you too, you now know it’s “normal” and has nothing to do with you, but the culture here.
