3 Safety Tips How Not To Get Murdered
Safety in Medellin is always a big concern for people who have never been to Colombia. I hear a lot about foreigners getting killed in Medellin and made some research in order to find out how bad the situation really is.
I took the time to research ALL the murders that occurred since 2014, and found a lot of similarities. Most people who got killed have something to do with girls/prostitutes, drugs or resisted the robbery.
The chance to get killed when you have nothing to do with those things is really small! On top of that, we have to mention that all the people that got murdered were men! That means, that according to the statistics the probability of getting killed as a woman in Medellin equals ZERO.
I have to mention, that I’m just talking about killings, this video doesn’t go further than that. I’m not saying that Medellin is a totally safe place either. But that the likely hood of getting killed is pretty small.
But of course, as everywhere in the world you always have to be aware of your surroundings and make sure not to become a target. Even if someone doesn’t get killed they can be harassed, robbed, violated etc.
We don’t want to discourage people from coming to Medellin but to state facts in order for everyone to know what they are getting themselves into.
